Vanessa developed a passion for both fitness and everything horses in her teenage years. An active lifestyle, along with firsthand experience managing injuries, both her own and those of her aging horse, instilled in her a deep appreciation for the importance of self-care and rehabilitation. This foundation inspired her to help other people and their horses, leading her to pursue a career as a Registered Equine Massage Therapist, with a focus on improving the health and well-being of ever horse she treats. 

After graduating from D’Arcy Lane Institute of Massage Therapy in 2009, Vanessa joined the program as an instructor from 2010 to 2013 and served as the interim director of education in 2013. During this time, she also built a successful equine massage therapy practice, working with horses of various breeds and disciplines throughout Southwestern Ontario.

Her commitment to animal care expanded beyond horses to include canine massage and professional dog grooming, after earning her diploma as a professional dog groomer, further broadening her skill set. From 2015 to 2021, Vanessa owned and operated her own boarding facility, where she integrated her diverse expertise to provide comprehensive care in one location. 

While she continues to offer massage services on a smaller scale, her deep connection to horses and dogs remains a constant. Driven by a curiosity for learning and a desire to explore new opportunities, Vanessa embraces a dynamic lifestyle. In her free time, she enjoys weight training, gardening and baking as well as hiking with her dog.
