Taylor smith, remt

Taylor has been an avid horse lover her entire life; from reading books about horses as a child to eventually taking riding lessons as she grew older. She was fortunate enough to own her own horse as a young teen and has devoted her entire life to horses ever since. Taylor has competed in Rodeo, OBRA, and NBHA events and also spent several years competing in dressage. Regardless of the discipline, she loves to be on the back of a horse chasing a goal. Today, Taylor is proud to combine that lifelong passion with her professional work, helping horses feel and perform their best.

Taylor began her post-secondary education at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus, completing the Veterinary Office Administration program with the goal of working in the veterinary field. Wanting to focus more specifically on equine care, she went on to complete the Equine Massage Therapy program at D'Arcy Lane Institute of Massage Therapy; a two year, 2200-hour hands-on diploma course. She graduated in 2018, successfully completed her board examinations and became registered with the International Federation of Registered Equine Massage Therapists (IFREMT).

A few years later in 2024, Taylor decided to further her knowledge and services. She travelled to Texas to attend the Animal Calibrated Electro-Acuscope and Electro-Myopulse program, becoming certified through Animal Therapy Systems (ATS). The Electro-Acuscope/Myopulse is an FDA-approved microcurrent device approved for neuromuscular, musculoskeletal conditions and pain management.  This modality can improve healing by a minimum of 50% and increase ATP, by up to 500%. What sets it apart is its Bio-Feedback (BFB) system, which is a non-fixed system that monitors the tissue every five milliseconds, taking a reading in the body and then delivers the appropriate amount of current back out. This ensures that the modality can never over stimulate or “tire” the tissues. This also give the therapist readings to help create a “road map” of the body and what areas need what type of focus.

In her spare time, Taylor enjoys spending time with her own horses and with her family. She is eager to grow her business in Central Alberta and looks forward to helping as many horses as possible.
